Item Title:Update on Tatum Property Pathway
Agenda Title:Update on Tatum Property Pathway
Background:The district was approached by the County of Santa Barbara for a Safe Routes to School Pathway at the Tatum Property.  Tthe original cost estimate provided by the county included lighting and was produced by county staff without a site visit.  Following discussions about the property being closed at dusk and county staff having visited the property to review site conditions and required engineering, lighting was eliminated to keep the project within budget.

The next step was to submit a Funding Application and gain approval by the Measure A Scoring Committee, which was accomplished in January of 2013.  The next requirement was for the South Coast Sub-Regional Committee to ratify the scoring committee results and this was accomplished on march 6, 2013.  Following this, the full Santa Barbara County Association of Governments (SBCAG) Board ratified the South Coast Sub-Regional Committee's actions.  This was accomplished on March 21, 2013.

Following these approvals, the next action is to develop cooperative agreements and gain approval by each board (county Supervisors and SBCAG).  The district was advised on June 24, 2013 that the agreements should be signed by both boards during the last week of June and following this, the county can proceed with design.  We have not yet received official work of the signing of the agreements.
