Background:

Attached is the After School Education and Safety (ASES) Renewal Request and

3 Year Program Plan in the amount of $1,054,854 between the Santa Barbara

Unified School District and the California Department of Education/After School

Division for the operation of eight after school programs serving 805 students at: 

Adelante Charter, Adams, Cleveland, Franklin, Harding University Partnership,

McKinley, Santa Barbara Community Academy Elementary Schools and at La

Cumbre Junior High School. 

The contract funds are primarily used for classified salaries for the program. The remainder of the contract pays for contract services, instructional materials, meal plan, professional development, business operations, and other supplies.

Recommendation:

That the Board of Education approve the Renewal and 3 Year Program Plan for $1,054,854 between the Santa Barbara Unified School District and the California Department of Education/After School Program Division.

Fiscal Impact:
