| Item Title: | Additional Annual Teacher Assignments | | Agenda Title: | Approval of additional Annual Teacher Assignments | | Background: | The Commission Teacher Credentialing (CTC) permits districts to authorize certificated educators to instruct in areas outside of their credential area, based on Education Codes: 44256 (b), 44258.1, 44258.15(a), 44258.2, 44258.3, 44258.7(b), 44258.7 (c)(d), 44263, 44831 and 44865. Education Code 44258.9, in turn, requires Boards of Education take action to approve the assignments annual. The Board is required to take action even if an employee holds a supplemental credential in their appropriate subject area because supplemental credentials are valid up to Grade 9 only. Due to semester changes, this is an update of the report received in the Fall.
