Item Title:Discussion of BCBA services for students in the CTE Regional Program
Agenda Title:Discussion of Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) services for students in the Center for Therapeutic Education (CTE) Regional Program
Background:

The Santa Barbara County Special Education Local Plan Area (SBCSELPA) provides Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) services to students with special needs who are enrolled in the Center for Therapeutic Education (CTE) Regional programs. Santa Barbara Unified School District (SBUSD) in collaboration with SBCSELPA operates the CTE Regional programs.  Students with special needs from SBUSD and other districts within the SBCSELPA have access to this program.  Currently, there are 28 students receiving BCBA services.

Recommendation:

Effective 2014-2015 school year, SBUSD will be the primary BCBA service provider for students with special needs who are enrolled in the CTE regional programs operated by the District.  SBUSD assures that there will be compliance with all Federal and State laws and regulations and SBCSELPA policies.

The estimated cost for a BCBA Behavior Specialist ranges from $49,986.00 to $72,722.00
