Due to the location of a fault line at the site, and the potential cost of the investigation necessary to place a new structure on the site, the scope of work was changed to place the new restroom in room 118 with inside and outside access. Three offices will be created in the current teachers’ lounge to accommodate the office functions in room 118 and other functions in room 118 will be moved to the portable classroom. The teachers’ lounge will be relocated to room 213.
Frank Schipper construction is on site as the contractor for the theater renovation at La Cumbre Junior High School and utilizing the same contractor will save on mobilization costs, coordination issues between multiple contractors, and the ability to utilize the same Division of State Architect inspector for both projects.
The construction budget for this project is $567,566 ($543,646 +$23,920 escalation) and a construction contingency of $54,365 is allocated to the project.
