Numerous $100,000 grants have been awarded to the district in past years. A current grant is for playground improvements and equipment at the Franklin Children’s Center.
The pavement area leading from the building to the playground area and the surrounding asphalt requires renovation. The concrete is too steep to meet accessibility requirements and the asphalt is cracked and in need of replacement.
The district has requested the attached Guaranteed Maximum Sum for the pavement renovation From Shaw Contracting Corporation. They have successfully accomplished civil work at other district sites and the district is pleased with their services. The scope of work includes a bike/trike path and that portion of the project will be paid from State Grant funds.
