Background:

The Santa Barbara Unified School District renews the contract with Save A Valuable Employee Assistance Program (S.A.V.E.) each year.   S.A.V.E. is a valuable resource for Santa Barbara Unified School District employees and offers the following services at no cost to the employees:

 
Assessment and referral services to employees and their families experiencing personal problems.
 
Follow-up and after careCrisis counseling, critical incident stress debriefing/defusingTraining and consultation on program utilization and workplace problems
 
Employee presentations
 
Coordination resources for assistance and treatment for alcohol and drug related problems
 
Professional and personal development seminars and presentations
Activity reports
 
Monthly supervisor newsletters via e-mail
 
Financial hotline to employees

Recommendation:It is recommended that the Board of Education approve Save A Valuable Employee Assistance Program.
