Background:
In accordance with the collective bargaining statutes under which the District negotiates with employees, the District brings forth a proposal to bargain terms and conditions for the 2013-14 school year. Pursuant to Article XVI, Term and Effect of Agreement, each party agrees to re-open salary, employees benefits and two other items for the 2013-14 school year. The articles to be negotiated are as follows:
 
Article IV     (Wages)
Article V      (Health and Welfare Benefits)
Article VI     (Hours/Conditions)
Article X      (Class Size) 
 
The Santa Barbara Unified School District is required to memorialize our proposal twice at public meetings 
Recommendation:Approval of second reading of the Santa Barbara Unified School District Sunshine Proposal to Negotiate with Santa Barbara Teacher's Association Successor Agreement for Implementation in the 2013-14 school year.
