Background:
For the 2010/2011 fiscal year, districts received a prorated apportionment of $486,174 based on a full apportionment of $515,439.  The districts are required to match the maximum apportionment because we accepted Williams Settlement lawsuit money. Currently, the district is not required to make the match.
 
The scope and size of many deferred maintenance projects require an informal or formal bid per the public contract code and the planning office is managing these projects. In order to allocate deferred maintenance funds towards salary and benefits of positions not funded with general funds, the districts must list this expense on the 5 year plan.   A hearing is required prior to the submission of the five year plans.
Recommendation:That the Board Hold a Public Hearing on the Updated/Revised Five Year Deferred Maintenance Plan and direct staff to submit the plan to the State Allocation Board.
