Background:The Santa Barbara Unified School District (SBUSD) entered into a Contract Agreement in June of 2012 for the 2012-2013 After School Safety and Education (ASES) grant to provide a program on all regular school days at Adams, Adelante Charter, Cleveland, Franklin, Harding University Partnership, and McKinley Elementary Schools.

The initial agreement was for $104,285 for the 2012-2013 school year. An amendment was approved for an increase of $10,000 for the City of Santa Barbara to purchase SPARK curriculum and train City of Santa Barbara, Parks and Recreation staff. Recently, the City of Santa Barbara, Parks and Recreation Department located an error in their initial calculations and need to increase the Contract Agreement to a grand total of $137,650.

Fiscal Impact:There is no impact to the general fund. California Department of Education After School Education and Safety grant will provide funding for 2012-2013.
