Background:
As part of the Indoor Air Quality upgrades for the portable classrooms at Washington Elementary School, replacement of the flooring is anticipated. This project is not on the measure R 2000 bond fund list and is scheduled to be funded from Developer Fees. In order to reduce the impact on the site and reduce the cost of the project it would benefit the district to reject all bids as over budget and direct staff to re-bid the project as a summer project, allowing for savings to the project by allowing for work in all units to take place at once. A savings of approximately $17,000 is anticipated and the tentative new start date would be June 10, 2013 with an anticipated completion date of July 15, 2003.
 
A mandatory pre-bid conference was held at 3:00 PM on February 19, 2013 in response to public advertisement. Seven contractors attended the pre-bid conference and bids were opened at 10:00 AM on March 14, 2013. A bid tabulation sheet is attached.   
Recommendation:The Board of Education reject of All Bids, Relocatable Classrooms Flooring Replacement at Washington Elementary School and direct staff to re-bid the project as a summer 2013 project to realize anticipated savings to the contract amount.
