The Santa Barbara Baseball Parents Association recently completed the construction of a new double batting cage at Santa Barbara High School. The project was site funded and reviewed by the City of Santa Barbara. This cage was paid for with existing Association funds with contractors donating time and reducing costs. The parents would like to re-coup and put towards other baseball needs the $120,000 they put toward the project.
To assist with the fundraising, the parents association would like to name the new cages after coach George Rempe, a volunteer coach for the program since 1985, serving primarily as a hitting instructor. A commemorative plaque would be attached to the batting cages.
