Agenda Title:Classified Categorical and General Fund Layoffs Due to Lack of Funds or Lack of Work
Background:

Education Code 45117 provides two reasons for school districts to recommend a reduction of positions or hours: lack of funds or lack of work. The District will meet with CSEA to negotiate the impact and effect of these reductions. Education Code 45117 also requires that notices be sent to the affected employees 60 days in advance of the layoff or reduction. The process will follow the Education Code and Classified Collective Bargaining Agreement, and affected employees will be fully informed of their rights and entitlements. A Board of Education resolution will follow after the Board takes action.
