Background:As part of the Indoor Air Quality upgrades for the portable classrooms at Washington Elementary School, replacement of the flooring is anticipated.  This project is scheduled to be funded from Developer Fees as a classroom reconstruction due to air quality   On April 9, 2013 the board rejected all bids for this project (low bid was $129,610) and directed staff to reduce the impact on the site and reduce the cost of the project by allowing for work in all units to take place at once.

The scope of work was also changed to include an air supply in the attic space to reduce the possibility of mold due to condensation.

A mandatory pre-bid conference was held at 3:00 PM on May 6, 2013 in response to bid advertising requirements.  Two contractors attended the pre-bid conference and bids were opened at 10:00 AM on May 21, 2013.  A bid tabulation sheet is attached.     
Recommendation:The Board Approve the Award of Contract to Reliable Floor Covering, Inc. for Classrooms Flooring Replacement at Washington Elementary School.
