| Item Title: | Santa Barbara Teachers Association (SBTA) Sunshine Initial Proposal for the Successor Agreement between SBTA and the Santa Barbara Unified School District (SBUSD) | | Agenda Title: | Santa Barbara Teachers Association (SBTA) Sunshine Initial Proposal for the Successor Agreement between SBTA and the Santa Barbara Unified School District (SBUSD) | | Background: | In accordance with the collective bargaining statutes under which the District negotiates with employees, the SBTA intends to bring forth a proposal for the Successor Agreement to bargain terms and conditions to the 2011 - 2014 Agreement between SBTA and the SBUSD which will expire June 30, 2014. Pursuant to Article XVI, Term and Effect of Agreement, each party agrees to re-open salary, employees benefits and four other items. The articles to be negotiated are as follows:

Article V (Health and Welfare Benefits)
Article VI (Hours and Conditions)
Article VIII (Safety)
Article IX (Special Need Students)
Article X (Class Size)
