Background:

This project is identified and being funded from Measure R 2010 bond funds.  The preliminary construction cost estimate provided to the board on January 10, 2017 was $240,000.  During the design phase it was discovered that additional drainage work would be required on the west side of the project and that two storage sheds would need to be relocated.  Additional construction fencing was also added as students will be in the area for summer programs in the portables.  Due to these additional factors, a construction budget for this project was established at $275,000 plus a 10% construction contingency.  The total project budget is $365,556 with a non-construction budget (soft cost) amount of $63,056.

In response to public advertising a mandatory pre-bid conference was held on May 30, 2017 at 2:00 PM.  Seven contractors attended the pre-bid conference.  A bid opening was held on June 15, 2017 at 2:00 PM and a bid tabulation sheet is attached.

This project is over budget by $19,301.50.  Measure R 2010 has sufficient reserves to cover the excess amount if the entire change order contingency is needed.
