As part of our transition to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), including our transition to new courses, Integrated Science in grades 6-8 and the high school 3 Course Model, teachers need extra support during the upcoming school year. The upcoming year will the final year in a 3 year transition to integrated science at the 7th and 8th grade levels and will be the pilot year for the new NGSS high school course with ESS embedded into biology, chemistry, and physics.

As a temporary or transitional material, we are seeking a one-year subscription to STEMscopes for purposes of teacher background learning support and lesson / activity idea support. The one-year subscription will be purchased for all students in grades 7 and 8, but only as a teacher support for high school science. STEMscopes is not fleshed out enough at the high school level to warrant universal student subscriptions. As there are no "teacher only" subscriptions, we are ordering just a single period worth of student subscriptions for the high school science teachers.

A longer term instructional materials plan for secondary science is in progress at the moment. We are considering curating open educational resources (OERs) to match our newly developed course plans.
