Background:

Upgrades to the district office are anticipated as part of the Measure I 2016 bond fund program.  Upgrades to the district office heating/ventilation & air conditioning (HVAC) system are anticipated as part of the deferred maintenance program for the district. This project will include restroom upgrades, reconfiguration of the second floor and upgrades to the failing district office HVAC system.

Robert Robles has been the Architect of Record for numerous district projects and the district is pleased with his services. Robert Robles has completed the schematic design services required for this project under a separate contract.  Page 2 of the proposal outlines the scope of the renovations.

Following the approval of the architectural assignment we will advertise for a Lease Lease-back contractor.  We anticipate a September 2018 submittal to the Division of the State Architect (DSA) for plan approval and a March 2019 start of construction with an August 2019 completion date.

Recommendation:That the Board Approve the Agreement for Architectural Services with Robert Robles Architecture Inc. for Design of the District Office Renovation Project.
