In preparation for the window replacement projects at our historical buildings it will be important to assess the condition of the existing windows. Our approach will be to discover how many windows are in poor condition, assess whether rehabilitation or replacement is appropriate for each one, and develop a list to prioritize all of the windows.  In addition, it will be necessary to document the various sizes and style differences at each site.

For this project Kruger, Bensen, Ziemer Architects, Inc. has proposed using a retired architect from their firm who is the current president of the Pearl Chase Society, a local nonprofit conservancy dedicated to preserving Santa Barbara’s historic architecture. This agenda item is asking the Board to approve a contract with KBZ for the assessment of these historically significant architectural features.
