Background:

The board policies listed below were presented to the board on March 5, 2019 for discussion.

The board requested changes be made to the following board policies:

  • Board Policy 6162.6 Use of Copyrighted Materials
  • Board Policy 6142.6 Visual and Performing Arts Education
  • Board Policy 6142.2 World/Foreign Language Instruction

The board had no requests for changes to the following board policies:

  • Deletion of Board Policy 6161.3 Toxic Art Supplies
  • Board Policy 6185 Community Day School
  • Board Policy 6173.2 Education of Children of Military Families

Staff have incorporated the requested changes and are now presenting BPs, 6162.6, 6142.6, 6142.2, 6185, 6173.2 for second reading.

Recommendation:It is recommended that the Board of Education approve BPs 6162.6, 6142.6, 6142.2, 6185, 6173.2 and the deletion of BP 6161.3 Toxic Arts Supplies.
