Agenda Title:Approval of the Reappointment of Margie Yahyavi and Lang Sligh to the Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee (Measures Q and R 2010 and Measures I and J 2016) - Jetté
Background:The Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) was established by the Santa Barbara Unified School District Board of Education via Resolution 2016/17-20 on December 13, 2016. The resolution authorized the then existing citizens’ oversight committee for Measures Q and R to also review the expenditures for 2016’s Measures I and J. Duties of the CBOC members are to inform the public concerning the District’s expenditures of bond proceeds, review expenditure reports produced by the District and present to the board an annual report. CBOC members Margie Yahyavi and Lang Sligh have completed their first one-year term and have accepted a second two-year term nomination. The CBOC bylaws require that the board officially reappoint members. CBOC members can serve up to three consecutive terms. Ms. Yahyavi serves as a representative of a business organization while Mr. Sligh is a community-at-large member.
Recommendation:It is recommended the board approve the reappointment of a second term for Margie Yahyavi and Lang Sligh as CBOC members.
