It has been at least 20 years since the District decentralized custodial services. Since that time, individual site administrators have been responsible for management and supervision of custodial staff assigned to their school. This model has worked reasonably well at the junior high and high schools due to their larger staffs and infrastructure, but has become untenable at the elementary schools where the site administrator is responsible for every function on campus.

While the Custodial Services Manager will focus on improving services and standardizing processes, systems and equipment across the entire District, special emphasis will be given to the elementary schools to relieve site administrators of some of the burden of maintaining facilities in a manner that supports teaching and student learning.
