Background:
The Marjorie Luke Theatre is governed by a Joint Use Agreement between the Santa Barbara Community Youth Performing Arts Center (SBCYPAC) and Santa Barbara Unified School District (SBUSD). The agreement specifies that SBCYPAC must withhold 5 percent of the theatre's gross annual earnings to put into a deferred maintenance fund to be used "solely for deferred maintenance of the Majorie Luke Theatre."  In order to use the money board approval is needed to transfer the amount of $1,600 from Deferred Maintenance to their General Account.

Santa Barbara Junior High School’s Cota Street Kiosk is in need of fresh paint and SBCYPAC is requesting approval to transfer funds for the Kiosk to be repainted.

The total amount SBCYPAC is requesting be approved to use from the SBCYPAC Deferred Maintenance account is $1,600 to cover the final cost.
Recommendation:Recommend that the board approve this item.

Fiscal Impact:There is no fiscal impact to SBUSD as the funds being approved would come from the SBCYPAC Deferred Maintenance account.
